It is a very fine flour from the fruit of the chonta palm.
Chontaduro, also known as the vegetable egg due to its nutritional similarity, is an extraordinary food that provides most of the nutrients necessary for human consumption. Chontaduro is highly nutritious in terms of fiber levels, adequate fat, beta-carotene and contains eight essential amino acids!
Flour is very versatile and you can add it to any sauce, dressing or vinaigrette to
give them creaminess, intense orange color and their delicate flavor. You can also add it to soups, smoothies, juices, rice dishes and much more!
It comes from Putumayo thanks to different associative processes and small family plots where chontaduro is cultivated together with other foodstuffs and for sale, supporting the agrobiodiversity of the region.
Its flavor resembles that of a potato with aromas of "cheese".
