Phosphites are the result of a slow and incomplete combustion process that combines previously burned bone powder mixed with rice husks to obtain silica and phosphorus that are easily absorbed and assimilated by the plant. Bones are made mainly of calcium phosphate and rice husks are 80-90% siliceous compounds, mainly in the form of silica oxide. The result of this chemical reaction, catalyzed by high temperature, is calcium silicate and phosphorus pentoxide and trioxide.
