Bordeaux broth kit (to prepare 50L)

The Bordeaux broth is an effective fungicide and pest control aid, it is prepared with a base of copper sulfate and quicklime, used mainly for the prevention and control of drip or late blight in potatoes and tomatoes, although for other vegetables and fruit trees is also very effective. Its application must be immediate to its preparation, for this reason Raíces brings this kit to prepare it at home.

Instructions for preparation

For 10L of broth, we are going to use:

100g of copper sulfate

100g of lime 10 liters of water

2 plastic containers

1 wooden stirrer (long stick)

In one of the containers add 9 liters of water and 100g of lime, mixing until completely dissolved, in the other container add 1 liter of water and 100g of copper sulfate, mix until dissolved individually, add the copper sulfate solution to the lime solution and mix very well, never the other way around, since it can generate an adverse chemical reaction and harm the crop.

Application and dosage

Beans and cabbage (also varieties of the same family): Dilute 10 liters of Bordeaux broth in 10 liters of water and apply.

Garlic, onion and beetroot (also varieties of the same family): Dilute 3 liters of Bordeaux broth in 17 liters of water and apply.

Tomato, carrot, potato and fruit trees (also varieties of the same family): Apply live on plants over 30cm tall.

DO NOT apply to curcibits (melon, auyama, zucchini, watermelon, cucumber and others)

Apply before 9am or after 3pm

The soil must be moist for application

Avoid applying during flowering, you can knock down the flower, do it only if there is disease

The Bordeaux broth is immediately applicable, prepare only what you need to use.

The kit includes:

500g of copper sulfate

500g quicklime
